ColdBricks Primer

ColdBricks is a new open source content management system for the ColdFusion platform. ColdBricks specializes in creating sites that are highly modular in nature such as portals and dashboards. The underlying architecture of the sites created and managed with ColdBricks is the HomePortals framework.

In this session we will provide an overview of ColdBricks and HomePortals, see how they relate to each other and what role each one has. The focus will be in providing a general view of what can be done with ColdBricks, what features it offers for content management, site management and site creation. We will also look at the "SiteTemplating" feature, which is an extensible mechanism to create sites based on "blueprints" or templates.

Depending on time availability we will go through the process of building a sample website from the ground up using only ColdBricks
